How to Gain Clarity in Midlife

I’m one of those people who loves making decisions. In fact, I find decision-making fun and I usually feel very confident about the decision I’m making.

Do you like making decisions or do you find yourself taking a long time to make a move?

Part of why I like making decisions is because I’m an action-taker. I can’t stand sitting on the fence. I feel confident about my decision after it’s passed a test I made up for myself. I know I’ve made the right decision these when these three areas are aligned: my Head (“Is this decision logically the right one for me at this time?”), my Heart (“Is this decision going to move me toward the woman I still long to be?”), and my Gut (“Is my gut telling me that this the right decision?”).

When my Head, my Heart, and my Gut are aligned, I know what decision I need to make. This is why I feel so confident about my choices. Don’t get me wrong. Sometimes I don’t make the right choice, but it doesn’t happen very often. Here’s why.

What keeps me on course is that I have done the work to produce Clarity in my life. You see, when you have Clarity, decisions become easy because things are “clear.” When things are “clear,” then you are able to do the Head, Heart, and Gut test and make your decision. This means no more sitting on the fence wasting your precious time and life because you still can’t decide what to do.

So what exactly is Clarity?

Clarity is basically the “What” and the “Why.” In other words, Clarity requires knowing “what” you want and “why” you want it. One of the reasons why I believe TRANSFORMATION in midlife is not only achievable, but an amazing experience, is because unlike the woman you were decades ago, you now have earned three TRANSFORMATIVE “gifts” in your 50’s: Wisdom, Experience, and Maturity. Like I said, you’ve earned these gifts; they can’t be taken away from you, and they can be used to help you gain Clarity in midlife.

Today, I invite you to take hold of your Wisdom, Experience, and Maturity, and take some time this week to work through four questions that will help you gain Clarity in your life right now. It will help you make decisions quickly and easily, while avoiding wasting time and energy sitting on the fence not knowing what to do.

If you’re ready to start your TRANSFORMATION toward the woman you were meant to be in midlife and for the decades yet to come, I challenge you to meditate on these four questions this week:

1. What do you really want in your 50’s?

2. Why do you want it?

3. Why is your vision important to you?

4. Why is it important to others?

Don’t take these questions lightly. They are the key to gaining Clarity in your life. Take some time to work through them and feel free to share your answers with me!

Wishing you joyful health in your 50’s,
Kim
