Fail Forward!

footsteps 02Have you ever heard of the phrase, “If you’re not moving forward, you’re getting left behind?” When I explain attaining physical results from exercise and nutrition to my clients, I describe that it’s oftentimes taking two steps forward and one step back. This is normal and completely healthy.

On the other hand, what we don’t want is to take one step forward (or no steps at all) and take two steps back. This is usually caused by minimal to no effort or commitment at all.

Failing is not a bad thing, unless it’s failing because you are not trying. Instead of thinking you have to be perfect all the time and not make any mistakes along the way, just commit to doing your best everyday. Try to get just 1% better than you were yesterday.

Don’t be afraid to fail as long as you are moving forward, doing your best, learning from your mistakes, and challenging yourself to become better and better everyday. Failing forward will help you grow, make you stronger and wiser, and it will help you build confidence!
