Be the Change You Wish to See… in Yourself?

At the beginning of each year, I create a theme (usually a word or short phrase) that I use to guide my focus and intention that year. A few years ago, I chose the theme “World Class,” meaning that I would approach everything I did with a world-class mindset – from how I showed up to work every day, to the way I connected with my clients, to the content I created for my community (you!), and so on.

The Only Real Way to Combat Aging

Remember when you could eat crappy food, pull all-nighters, and still have the energy to power through your day? Oh, and you looked good doing it. But that was 30 years ago, and perhaps you’ve recognized in your midlife years that your body isn’t as resilient as it used to be.

Last week I shared Part I of the 5 Reasons Why You Might Be Procrastinating When It Comes to Exercise. If you missed Part I, be sure to check it out. We don’t mean to procrastinate on things we know are good for us, like exercise, yet we do it anyway. But why? There are several reasons I’ve come across (and honestly, some I’ve used myself at times), but there are 5 that appear the most often in my work coaching women in midlife.

My family gathered at my grandma’s house recently, the same day her downstairs toilet broke. It was a holiday, so plumbers were scarce. Regular Checkups

Even though I try to stay as healthy as I can, I still don’t like going to the doctor. Nevertheless, I go every summer anyway for my routine check-ups. Not to mention, Type II diabetes runs in my family, so it’s something I have to constantly be mindful of.

Cancer: What Midlife Women Can & Can’t Control

Cancer hit two of my family members in the past 6 months. It’s not surprising, as statistics tell us that for us, 1 in 3 women will develop cancer in their lifetime. Knowing this, it’s understandable to think that it’s inevitable for you too, if not sooner, probably later; however, my hope is that you’re also aware that there are things you can do to decrease your risk.

Make Better Choices By Cutting the “Noise”

I often tell my clients “awareness is key.” The greater our awareness, the more likely we will make the best choices for ourselves – ones that are aligned with the pursuit of becoming our healthiest and best selves.

A Mother’s Day Wish For You

I’ve had to learn (the hard way) that getting a lunch or dinner reservation on Mother’s Day at most restaurants around town is nearly impossible, unless you reserve it weeks or a month or more in advance. That’s why this year I’m bypassing all that hassle and making my mom and mother-in-law a beautiful lunch at home.
