The 3 Most Important Investments You May Not Be Making in Your 50’s

When I speak to women about the three investments I believe are the most important in their 50’s, most, if not all agree with me 100%. However, very few are actually doing them. I have found that they really want to invest in these areas.

First, here’s what I believe are the three greatest investments you should be making in your 50’s because they provide the greatest return, meaning you will get out so much more than you put in:

1.  Cultivating healthy habits

  •  Sleep, Food, Mood, and Exercise habits

2.  Continual personal development

  • Reading, journaling, quiet time, reflection, and discussion amongst a group of like-minded women

3. Building positive and healthy relationships with women

  • Cultivating healthy relationships with women also in their 50’s who uplift, encourage, support, and celebrate with one another in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment

Each day you put off investing in any of these three areas is an opportunity lost to build the health and well-being you most desire in your 50’s. The great news is that there are three steps you can start to take TODAY and I’d like to share them with you.

Step 1: BELIEVE these areas are worth your investment

Will it pay off long term to build healthy sleep, food, mood, and exercise habits? If you don’t think it will, you won’t MAKE the time to work on them. If you do believe they are, you can move to Step 2. (It starts with BELIEF.)

Step 2: Get some ACCOUNTABILITY & SUPPORT

Whenever you’re making a new change in your life, it’s not easy trying to do it alone. The best way to stay accountable to your new commitments is to surround yourself with other positive and uplifting women who are also on a similar path.

Step 3: Patiently press on for the JOY OF WHO YOU’RE BECOMING in the process

Sleep well, eat well, exercise regularly, and take steps to lower your stress because you’re taking care of YOU and it feels good to take care of yourself – physically, mentally, and emotionally. Understand, however, that it’s hard to follow through on Step 3 if you don’t have the first two – belief, accountability, and support.

If you already have the BELIEF, it’s now time to get the ACCOUNTABILITY and SUPPORT you NEED in order to make these changes STICK. Your days of the quick fix are over. You’ve been there, done that. It’s time to make lasting changes. It’s time to put your needs right up there with everyone else’s.

Wishing you joyful health in your 50’s,
