Are You a Modern Health Enthusiast?

I’m going to create a new term and you’re the first to hear it: Modern Health Enthusiast.

Do you like it?

Let me explain a little more…

A Modern Health Enthusiast is modern because she’s not swayed by the hottest new diet, supplement, product, or fad.

She’s been there and done that.

She’s learned from her past mistakes.

She’ll never be persuaded to do a “Lose 10 pounds in 10 days” over-promising and under-delivering diet ever again.

Instead, she stays up-to-date on the latest scientific research and trusts the facts, even if it’s uncomfortable or goes against what she’s always believed.

A Modern Health Enthusiast is invested wholeheartedly in her health.

Health is not something she merely “does”; it’s who she “is”.

She understands the larger picture.

She pursues her healthiest self, not just for how she’ll look, but even more so for how she’ll move and feel, because she knows that a healthy body is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Finally, a Modern Health Enthusiast is just that – an enthusiast – she’s unequivocally devoted to becoming her healthiest and best self.

She’s in it for the long haul and finds joy in the process of who she’s becoming and understands that ups and downs are a normal part of the journey.

She seeks out the fun and challenge in her healthy day-to-day routine.

Meanwhile, she takes her health seriously and doesn’t let other things get in the way because she knows that if she lets it go a little today, she’ll start down a slippery slope she’s been down before, but has vowed never to again.

So, do you consider yourself a Modern Health Enthusiast?

If not quite yet, but you want to be, then stay tuned, because over the next five weeks  I’m going to share with you how you can become one.

This 5-part series I’m going to share with you was inspired by the recent Time magazine issue “The Weight Loss Trap”.

It was a great piece and I’m so glad it was written.

After reading it one Saturday morning after breakfast, I immediately began writing this 5-part series that I can’t wait to share with you.

The series will start next week, so for today go ahead and read the article if you haven’t already.

Oh, and don’t worry…

I won’t be reiterating what the article already says; rather, I’ll be referring to some of the most important concepts in it and giving you some practical tips on how you can apply the principles in order to become a Modern Health Enthusiast in your 50s.

Let me warn you, though.

It might not be easy to hear some of the things I’m going to be saying, but I’m doing it because I want to live in a world where all women in midlife are a Modern Health Enthusiasts too, starting with you.

See you next week!
